FERTILITY COUNSELING
We’re here to tell that you’re not alone in your fertility journey. Many times women and couples feel lost and think that no one understands what they’re going through, but we assure you this isn’t the case. We understand that many women experience the mental, emotional, and physical pain of infertility. A fertility counselor works with women and couples to support them mentally and emotionally through the toughest time of their lives. With years of experience under our belts, we have helped many individuals and couples with their infertility journeys. And we will be there for you every step of the way – because your success is also ours.
What is fertility counseling?
Fertility Counseling or Infertility Counseling is therapy for individuals or couples that are on their journey of trying to have a family. Maybe you have just begun the process, or maybe it has been years and years of trying. You might have tried medical intervention, or you might be opting for a more holistic approach. Wherever you are on that journey, talking to an infertility therapist can be very helpful towards making a very difficult journey easier.
How fertility counseling helps?
Our therapists use research-based, evidence-based methods and numerous therapeutic modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT Therapy) to assist our clients in feeling better, regaining a sense of control, and feeling supported in their life. If you’re expressing anxiety, depression, and/or grief symptoms during the first session, our fertility counselor will discuss tools and resources that may help alleviate your concerns. You’ll work together with your therapist to find what works best for your needs during this time. In our experience, clients appreciate learning that there are things they can do to feel more in command of their mental health when everything else feels out of control.
The first goal of your fertility counselor is for you to feel at ease, safe, and secure. Many women and couples are under a lot of pressure and guilt while attempting to conceive. Infertility is highly shameful in our society and women are offered a lot of emotional support going through it. But we want you to know that infertility therapy is a non-judgemental environment where you can be yourself. Your fertility therapist offers in-person and video therapy sessions. Online infertility counseling in Florida is often an option for women that don’t want to travel to an office for sessions or want to complete their sessions in the privacy of their own home. Your sessions are a place where you may freely express your pain and anguish. Most importantly, we want you to understand that we can assist you with any difficulties related with infertility.
Is infertility effecting my relationship?
Trying to get pregnant and experiencing fertility challenges, it can also have a big impact on your relationship or marriage. Physical and emotional intimacy can change from being a way two partners connect, to being calculated and stressful. The pressure to get pregnant can negatively impacts the intimacy you feel during sex or times of connection.
Fertility challenges can have an impact on communication between two spouses. A couple’s capacity to communicate is negatively impacted by fear since one partner is afraid of letting their loved one down or upsetting the other. No matter what the reason is for your infertility-related relationship struggles, fertility counseling and online infertility counseling can help.
Is infertility counseling right for me?
It is very stressful when you try to start a family but faced with roadblocks. This can cause you to feel discouraged, helpless, overwhelmed with anxiety, and questioning if you’ll ever be a mom. The lack of control you may feel over your body and what it is not doing can make you feel extremely helpless. You are not alone in feeling this way. Many women go through fertility challenges and need someone to talk to that understands what they are going through.
